An Advisor. Not an Agent.

Phuket’s alternative to traditional real estate agencies

Hi. I’m Eric Haeg, co-founder of Real Assist.

Hi. I’m Eric Haeg, co-founder of Real Assist.

I don’t work as an agent and Real Assist isn’t a traditional agency.

Traditional agents in Thailand aren't licensed, so they owe you no fiduciary duty. My representation agreement does, and it holds even though I'm paid by sellers.

Work with me as your Property Advisor or Property Consult and you also get. . .

Why did I build Real Assist?

Because buyers deserve better.

I know the traditional agency business model is broken. Year after year, I watched buyers face the same problems despite available solutions. Knowing I had previously rebranded a company and successfully improved customer satisfaction, I decided to resign from my position and start Real Assist.

Phuket property searches:3 problems and 3 solutions

Problem #1: Regulatory deficit

Regulated markets hold agents accountable via fiduciary duty, disclosure, and a license. Thailand has none of that. An agent can collect a commission paid by the seller, and the only recourse for bad behavior is Thai civil court. No fiduciary duty, no disclosure, no license. You assume a level of protection that simply isn't there.

The Solution: After agreeing to terms, you and I sign a buyer representation agreement outlining Real Assist's responsibilities, service guidelines, and loyalties. This results in proactive disclosures, increased transparency, and legally binding accountability.

Problem #2: Hidden transaction costs

Sellers and developers frequently offer commissions between 3% and 12%, occasionally they offer agent bonuses on top of that. These expenses are calculated directly into the price you pay.

The Solution: In almost all cases, I can offer to return between 10-35% of the net commission. The percentage is based on 3-4 major factors, but you'll receive an accurate estimate of your expected return during the initial consultation.

Problem #3: Unreliable property information

The most common complaint I hear from buyers is that agencies' listings are inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date. That includes information as basic as the selling price, the exact location, and ownership structure.

The Solution: I don't list thousands of properties on my website and then leave them to rot on the digital vine. Instead, I curate a thoroughly researched list of verified options from across the market for you.

Frequently asked questions

Our representation agreement is modeled on the written buyer agreements US Realtors have used since 2024. It defines whom I represent, what I owe you, and how I’m paid. It’s a binding contract under Thai law, so my obligations are enforceable, not just promises.
